Vintage Character
The 2017 La Londe Rosé from Château Léoube belongs to a Provence vintage marked by contrasts. The regional wine council records a relatively dry, mild winter, replenishing March and April rain, then much warmer and drier conditions from late May. Mistral winds helped keep vineyards healthy, while some arid sites suffered water stress; harvest began as early as mid-August in the fastest areas. Léoube's La Londe origin places the rosé close to the Mediterranean, where maritime air and cooler nights check the heat. The 2017 season gives a rosé of ripe fruit held in check by coastal freshness.

Tasting Profile & Food Pairing
This La Londe rosé is made from Cinsault and Grenache, grapes that combine soft red fruit with a fuller texture, at 13.5% alcohol. The register is restrained strawberry and white peach, with citrus lift and a gently saline finish suited to its coastal setting. The palate is more textured than a simple aperitif rosé but still dry and direct. Serve it with grilled sea bass, prawns, fennel salad or a tomato-and-olive dish; the wine has enough fruit for Mediterranean seasoning without abandoning delicacy. With some age, savoury, dried-fruit and herbal notes appear, so serve moderately chilled and taste the bottle first.

Winery Background
La Londe is a geographical designation within Côtes de Provence, not a different grape or producer. Château Léoube sits near Bormes-les-Mimosas, farming organically on schist-and-clay soils shaped by sea breezes. The estate's rosé practice centres on gentle handling and the control of colour, temperature and oxidation from harvest to cellar. Romain Ott is the winemaker named for this wine. For this older vintage the condition of the bottle matters: a well-stored bottle shows savoury development, while the bright fruit of youth is softer now.
