Vintage Character The 2025 Love by Léoube Rosé belongs to a notably hot French summer. Météo-France ranked the season the third warmest on record, with June especially hot and rainfall below average in much of the south. The Provence wine council reported the first regional picking around 12 August and stressed cool-hour harvesting to protect delicate rosé aromas. Daily sea air and cooler nights meet clay-and-schist soils near Bormes-les-Mimosas. For this vintage a lively finish beside generous fruit is more significant than a simple promise of pale colour.
Tasting Profile & Food Pairing The blend centres on Grenache and Cinsault, with Syrah and Mourvèdre also named by the château, at 12.5% alcohol. Cinsault lends soft peach and strawberry; Grenache adds depth, while Mourvèdre contributes violet and dark berry accents. The estate describes a luminous pale pink-orange hue, a rounded opening and a light, airy middle of fresh fruit and citrus. In a hot year the slight acidity at the close gives the sweetness of the fruit a needed edge. Serve cool with grilled courgettes, tomato antipasti or chicken skewers; their Mediterranean flavours complement rather than mask the rosé.
Winery Background Château Léoube farms its coastal vineyards organically. Romain Ott conceived Love as a friendly, fruit-led expression of the estate, separate from its more structured Secret cuvée. For the rosé, grapes are directly pressed; fermentation follows pre-clarification, and the wine settles naturally before bottling. The producer also lists malolactic fermentation for this line. Love is intended for youthful enjoyment over the next year or two, when its citrus and berry freshness remains the centre of the experience, and the sea-facing setting and grape mix make it a distinctly Provençal wine.
