Domaine François Lamarche Échezeaux Grand Cru 2016 is a finely etched expression of Échezeaux in the Côte de Nuits, drawing on parcels in climats such as Les Champs Traversins, Clos Saint-Denis and Les Cruots within this famed Grand Cru. The 2016 vintage in Burgundy is generally regarded as high quality but severely low-yielding, as severe spring frosts reduced crops yet a warm, dry late summer allowed for beautifully concentrated, classically balanced wines with vibrant fruit and fresh acidity.

On the palate it is medium-bodied yet intense, with silky tannins, vibrant, medium-high acidity and refined oak notes of clove, cinnamon and delicate vanilla that frame, rather than mask, the fruit; the finish is long, savoury and perfumed with hints of dried rose and forest floor.
