Domaine Jean-Marc Millot Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 2019 is a finely etched expression of this historic walled vineyard, marrying Côte de Nuits power with the domaine’s signature finesse. The 2019 vintage in Burgundy is widely regarded as excellent, with a warm, mostly dry growing season that produced concentrated yet vibrant Pinot Noir combining ripe fruit with fresh acidity. Aromas unfold in layers of ripe red cherry, wild strawberry, raspberry and violet, touched by red plum and fresh herbs, before drifting into subtle oak spice, clove, cinnamon, mocha and delicate toast.

On the palate it is medium-full bodied with high, mouthwatering acidity and finely structured, medium-high tannins, giving both drive and elegance; notes of forest floor and mushroom add depth, leading to a persistent, mineral-tinged finish that promises graceful evolution towards nuances of dried cherry, sous-bois, leather and truffle with time in bottle. This is a refined yet serious Grand Cru, ideally matched with roast lamb, duck breast with cherry reduction, venison loin, or aged Comté and Beaufort.
