The 2022 Domaine des Ardoisières 'Améthyste' IGP Vin des Allobroges originates from the legendary, precipitous mica-schist terraces of Cevins in Savoie. The warm, dry 2022 growing season allowed the grapes to achieve optimal ripeness and concentration, while preserving the signature high alpine acidity that defines this extreme terroir. Facing south-southeast on dizzying slopes of up to a sixty percent gradient, the vines yield deeply mineral fruit, drawing intense energy and character from the fractured metamorphic soils.

This brilliant purple-hued red opens with evocative aromas of wild strawberry, dark plum, violet, and crushed stone. On the palate, a medium-bodied core of sour cherry and savory herbs is framed by fine, mineral-driven tannins and a crystalline, graphite-tinged finish.
