The 2017 vintage in Burgundy is generally regarded as a very good year for whites, thanks to a warm, largely dry growing season that produced ripe, pure fruit while retaining freshness and clarity of flavour. The nose combines lemon zest, ripe pear, white peach and green apple with white flowers and a distinct chalky edge, leading to a medium‑full palate that feels simultaneously silky and taut. Subtle brioche, cream and buttered toast from barrel fermentation and lees ageing are delicately woven into the citrus and stone‑fruit core, while emerging notes of hazelnut, toasted almond and a whisper of smoke add complexity on a long, mineral finish.
