The 2017 vintage in the Côte de Beaune was generally very good for white wines, with a mild spring and a warm, sunny summer leading to a healthy crop that combines ripe orchard fruit with lively acidity and clarity of flavour.

In the glass, this Chardonnay offers aromas of lemon zest, ripe pear, white peach, green apple and white flowers over a distinct chalky, stone-infused core, followed by subtle toast, brioche, vanilla, cream and a touch of hazelnut from barrel fermentation and extended lees contact. The palate is medium‑full in body yet beautifully poised, driven by bright, mouth-watering acidity and a fine, almost saline texture, finishing long with notes of honeyed citrus, grilled nuts, wet stone and a faint smokiness that tends to become more pronounced with time in bottle.
