Domaine Roulot Monthélie ‘Les Champs Fulliot’ Premier Cru 2020 is a finely etched red Burgundy from a well-situated Premier Cru slope above the village, planted to Pinot Noir. The 2020 vintage in Burgundy was warm and relatively dry, producing ripe, concentrated fruit yet retaining freshness thanks to cool nights and careful picking, and this cuvée reflects that combination of intensity and precision.
Tasting Profile & Food Pairing
Aromas of red cherry, wild strawberry, raspberry and redcurrant mingle with violet, rose petal and a hint of cranberry and fresh herbs, followed on the palate by subtle oak spice, clove, gentle toast and a touch of forest floor. Medium-bodied with medium-high acidity and silky, finely grained tannins, it glides across the palate with a long, vibrant, mineral-tinged finish and the potential to develop dried cherry, sous-bois, leather and truffle nuances with bottle age. It is a beautiful partner for roast duck breast with cherries, herb-crusted lamb, mushroom risotto or a simple roast chicken with thyme and root vegetables.
