Maison Fang Savigny lès Beaune 'Cuvée Zéphyr' 2022
Vintage Character
Maison Fang Savigny lès Beaune 'Cuvée Zéphyr' 2022 is a white wine from Savigny lès Beaune, Burgundy, made from Chardonnay. 2022's warm, dry season gave generous fruit balanced by Burgundian freshness. Its identity rests on a micro-négoce white Burgundy made in very small quantities. small-lot Chardonnay vinification with measured barrel élevage shapes the wine's texture and aromatic detail while keeping the origin clearly in view. The result is a characterful expression that combines regional typicity with a measured, food-friendly sense of balance.
Tasting Profile & Food Pairing
In the glass, it shows lemon, pear, white peach and hawthorn. Winemaking and maturation add brioche, hazelnut and gentle oak spice, while time brings chalk, beeswax and dried citrus. The palate is medium-bodied with high acidity and little perceptible tannin, carrying the flavours into a focused, persistent finish. Its appeal comes from definition, proportion and the clarity of its site rather than overt showmanship. Serve it with crab, roast chicken or creamy mushroom pasta; those dishes echo the wine's savoury detail while allowing its freshness to reset the palate.
Winery Background
Maison Fang is the producer, with Fang Qian responsible for its winemaking direction. The estate's work is grounded in the vineyards and in a cellar approach appropriate to Savigny lès Beaune, favouring sound fruit, controlled extraction or pressing, and élevage that supports rather than masks the raw material. For buyers, the key value is the combination of defined origin, a recognisable producer signature and a style that works at the table. The stated dry profile, high acidity and medium body also make the bottle easy to place in a collection or on a restaurant list. Proper storage and a suitable serving temperature will help preserve its detail, balance and length.
