Vintage Character The 2021 Côtes de Provence Domaine La Courtade Cuvée La Courtade Blanc showcases the distinctive maritime terroir of Porquerolles, a pristine island off the French Riviera. The 2021 vintage benefited from a mild spring followed by a warm, dry Mediterranean summer, which naturally concentrated the Rolle (Vermentino) grapes while preserving a striking, vibrant acidity. Grown on steep terraces of metamorphic schist soils within a protected national park, the vines absorb maritime humidity, imparting a distinct sea-breeze salinity and mineral tension to the wine.
Tasting Profile & Food Pairing This elegant white opens with expressive aromas of ripe white peach, Meyer lemon, and white blossoms, layered with subtle nuances of toasted almonds and beeswax. On the palate, its medium-to-full body is balanced by a mineral freshness and a saline finish reminiscent of its ocean-swept origins. It pairs beautifully with grilled sea bream dressed in olive oil and fennel, or a classic Cantonese steamed sea bass with ginger.
Winery Background Founded in 1983 and managed by the Carmignac family, Domaine La Courtade is the benchmark estate of Porquerolles. The estate practices organic and biodynamic viticulture, hand-harvesting its grapes to protect the island's fragile ecology. Under winemaker Florent Audibert, the Rolle grapes undergo gentle fermentation and aging in oak barrels, combining historical Provençal traditions with an artistic vision to craft whites of profound depth and character.
