Domaine Nicole Lamarche Echézeaux Grand Cru 2018 is a refined, perfumed expression of Pinot Noir from one of Burgundy’s most celebrated grands crus, drawn from parcels on the limestone- and clay-rich terroirs above Flagey‑Échézeaux. The 2018 vintage in Burgundy was generally regarded as very successful, thanks to a warm, sunny growing season and dry summer that produced ripe, generous fruit with ample concentration yet, in skilled hands, sufficient freshness to keep the wines balanced and supple.

In the glass this Echézeaux offers lifted aromas of red cherry, wild strawberry, raspberry, violet and rose petal, with subtle cranberry and fine oak nuances of clove, vanilla, toast and a touch of mocha and forest herbs. The palate is medium‑bodied yet intense, with silky, medium tannins, medium‑high acidity and a long, elegant finish showing hints of earth, underbrush, truffle, dried leaves, leather and dried cherry as it evolves in bottle. Its balance and finesse make it an outstanding partner for dishes such as roast duck with cherries, herb‑crusted rack of lamb or a simple roasted guinea fowl, and it also pairs beautifully with hard cheeses like Comté or aged Gruyère.
