2020 Domaine Nicole Lamarche Clos Vougeot Grand Cru comes from one of Burgundy’s most historic walled vineyards, the Grand Cru Clos de Vougeot in the Côte de Nuits. The 2020 vintage was warm and dry, producing small berries and notably concentrated fruit, yet in top hands it delivered a strong vintage with impressive balance as ripe tannins were preserved by Burgundy’s naturally vivid acidity. Clos de Vougeot is distinctive for its enclosed, monastic heritage and its complex patchwork of clay and limestone soils, a terroir that can marry breadth, perfume, and firm architectural structure.
