Weingut Hiedler Grüner Veltliner Langenlois 'Tonmineral' 2024
Vintage Character
The 2024 vintage of Hiedler Grüner Veltliner Langenlois Tonmineral captures the vibrant character of Austria’s renowned Kamptal region, where a cool spring followed by a warm, balanced summer produced wines with remarkable freshness, lively acidity, and crystalline purity.
Tasting Profile & Food Pairing
This regional Grüner Veltliner, grown on the mineral-rich loess and clay soils surrounding Langenlois, opens with enticing aromas of white peach, fresh pear, and subtle wild herbs, accented by the classic peppery spice that defines the variety. On the palate, it delivers a zesty, mouthwatering texture, layered with citrus, green apple, and a pronounced wet stone minerality. The clean, persistent finish is marked by a refined saline edge, enhancing its versatility at the table. Ideal pairings include grilled sea bass, asparagus salad, and soft goat cheeses, while a lightly spiced Sichuan-style cold chicken offers an intriguing contrast without overwhelming the wine’s delicate structure.
Winery Background
Founded in the 19th century, Weingut Hiedler stands as a pioneering family estate in Kamptal, celebrated for its dedication to sustainable viticulture and authentic expression of terroir. The Hiedler family emphasizes organic vineyard practices, careful hand harvesting, and spontaneous fermentation, adhering to a philosophy of minimal intervention that allows each wine to reflect the unique character of its origin. The Tonmineral bottling exemplifies their commitment to purity and site-specific minerality, making Hiedler’s Grüner Veltliners highly regarded among enthusiasts for their clarity, depth, and age-worthy potential.
