Domaine Laporte Sancerre 'Les Grandmontains' 2023
Vintage Character
Domaine Laporte Sancerre 'Les Grandmontains' 2023 is a white wine from Sancerre, Loire Valley, made from Sauvignon Blanc. 2023's ripe fruit is balanced by the appellation's naturally vivid acidity. Its identity rests on flint-rich silex and clay soils in Sancerre. organic farming and clean, temperature-controlled white-wine vinification shapes the wine's texture and aromatic detail while keeping the origin clearly in view. The result is a characterful expression that combines regional typicity with a measured, food-friendly sense of balance.
Tasting Profile & Food Pairing
In the glass, it shows grapefruit, lemon, gooseberry and elderflower. Winemaking and maturation add light lees cream and fresh herbs, while time brings flint, chalk and saline stone. The palate is light-medium-bodied with high acidity and little perceptible tannin, carrying the flavours into a focused, persistent finish. Its appeal comes from definition, proportion and the clarity of its site rather than overt showmanship. Serve it with goat cheese, oysters or grilled sole; those dishes echo the wine's savoury detail while allowing its freshness to reset the palate.
Winery Background
Domaine Laporte is the producer, with Domaine Laporte team responsible for its winemaking direction. The estate's work is grounded in the vineyards and in a cellar approach appropriate to Sancerre, favouring sound fruit, controlled extraction or pressing, and élevage that supports rather than masks the raw material. For buyers, the key value is the combination of defined origin, a recognisable producer signature and a style that works at the table. The stated dry profile, high acidity and light-medium body also make the bottle easy to place in a collection or on a restaurant list. Proper storage and a suitable serving temperature will help preserve its detail, balance and length.
