Caroline Parent Bourgogne Hautes Côtes de Nuits Blanc 2023
Vintage Character
From the higher, cooler slopes above the Côte de Nuits, Domaine Caroline Parent Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Blanc 2023 is a Chardonnay that captures a bright, stony side of white Burgundy with lift and precision. Burgundy’s 2023 growing season was generally warm and generous, and in the cooler Hautes-Côtes sites that typically translates into open, fruit-forward flavors while keeping a refreshing sense of balance.
Tasting Profile & Food Pairing
Expect aromas of lemon, green apple, pear and white peach, edged with subtle white flowers, followed by a palate that turns gently creamy with leesy pastry notes, light yogurt-like richness and a touch of restrained oak spice. The finish stays clean and mineral, leaning toward wet stone and a faint hazelnut nuance. Pair it with roast chicken with herbs, seared scallops, or a simple pasta with lemon and olive oil; it can also be a graceful match for Cantonese-style steamed fish (清蒸魚).
Winery Background
Domaine Caroline Parent is a boutique, quality-focused Burgundy producer associated with Caroline Parent, whose family roots are in the wider Parent winemaking lineage in Burgundy. The domaine is best understood through its intent: small-parcel sourcing and thoughtful élevage designed to emphasize freshness, clarity, and terroir definition rather than sheer power. In keeping with the naturally vibrant profile of the Hautes-Côtes, the winemaking aims for poise and finesse, using oak with a light hand so that citrus, orchard fruit, and mineral tones remain at the center of the wine’s expression.
