Domaine Billaud-Simon Chablis 'Montée de Tonnerre' Premier Cru 2023 comes from one of Chablis’ most revered Premier Cru sites, on the right bank of the Serein where Kimmeridgian limestone and clay give the wines their signature saline cut and stony intensity. The 2023 vintage in Chablis was generally generous and successful, with a warm growing season balanced by enough freshness to deliver ripe fruit without losing the appellation’s hallmark drive. Montée de Tonnerre is especially prized because its exposition and complex marl-rich soils often yield Chardonnay of Grand Cru-like depth, combining breadth with striking mineral precision.

The wine shows classic Chablis tension layered with Premier Cru amplitude: aromas of lemon zest, green apple, white peach and white flowers unfold into oyster shell, wet stone and a light smoky reduction.
