Henri Boillot Bourgogne Chardonnay 2023
Vintage Character
From the warm 2023 vintage, the Henri Boillot Bourgogne Chardonnay offers a brilliant expression of the regional Bourgogne appellation. A sunny growing season allowed for optimal grape maturity, while timely late-summer rains preserved the crisp, energetic acidity that defines high-quality white Burgundy. The grapes are sourced from selected clay-limestone parcels located primarily in the prestigious Côte de Beaune, benefiting from mineral-rich soils that impart a signature tension, focus, and depth to this entry-level cuvée.
Tasting Profile & Food Pairing
On the nose, this Chardonnay reveals vibrant, expressive aromas of ripe white peach, lemon curd, citrus blossom, and a subtle hint of toasted almond. The palate is remarkably precise and energetic, presenting a silky, medium-bodied texture balanced by a distinct saline minerality and a clean, refreshing finish. Pair this elegant white wine with classic pan-seared sea bass in a lemon-herb butter sauce or Cantonese-style steamed turbot with ginger and scallions.
Winery Background
Domaine Henri Boillot, currently led by winemaker Guillaume Boillot, is celebrated for producing incredibly precise, terroir-driven Burgundies from its historic cellars. The family-owned estate practices sustainable viticulture, utilizing meticulous hand-harvesting and rigorous sorting to ensure only pristine fruit is vinified. In the cellar, they ferment and age the wine in custom-made, larger oak barrels to minimize excessive oak influence, preserving the pure, crystalline fruit characteristics that make Boillot a benchmark Burgundy producer.
