The 2012 Champagne Louis Brochet 'HBH' Premier Cru Extra Brut highlights the excellence of a legendary vintage. Despite early spring frosts and devastating summer hail that reduced yields, a warm, dry August allowed the grapes to achieve optimal ripeness and exceptional concentration. Sourced from premier cru vineyards in Écueil on the northern slopes of the Montagne de Reims, this Champagne benefits from deep clay-limestone soils that impart a distinctive mineral tension and structural power to the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes.

Tasting Profile & Food Pairing
This micro-production prestige cuvée opens with refined aromas of toasted brioche, candied citrus, and roasted hazelnuts. On the palate, a creamy, fine mousse carries layers of crisp golden apple, lemon curd, and a distinct flinty minerality, culminating in a dry, lingering finish. Pair this complex Extra Brut with seared sea scallops in butter sauce, roasted pheasant, or crispy Peking duck.

Run by sibling winemakers Hélène and Louis Brochet, this fourth-generation family estate in Écueil operates as a grower Champagne house dedicated to showcasing their unique terroir. They practice sustainable viticulture with hand-harvesting to preserve fruit integrity. The Cuvée HBH is their flagship expression, aged for nearly a decade on the lees to develop deep complexity before receiving a minimal dosage to preserve its natural purity.
