Vintage Character Champagne Henriot 'Cuvée des Enchanteleurs' Brut Grand Cru 2015 brings together the generosity of a sunny Champagne harvest and the tension of its historic grand cru villages. The growing season was notably hot and dry, with abundant sunshine encouraging full ripeness. Rain in August refreshed the vineyards and helped preserve balance before picking. Chardonnay contributes a precise, linear character, while Pinot Noir gives depth and texture. In this vintage, their equal proportions capture ripe fruit and a broad middle palate without losing the fresh, saline edge that carries the wine forward.
Tasting Profile & Food Pairing Yellow-fruit aromas mingle with candied citrus and acacia honey, creating a mature but lively bouquet. The palate is generous and finely textured, combining Chardonnay's clarity with Pinot Noir's depth. A mineral, saline finish keeps the richness poised and gives the flavours a persistent echo. Try it with scallops in a light butter sauce, roast chicken with mushrooms, or lobster served simply enough to let its natural sweetness show. A tulip-shaped glass will give the bouquet room to develop, while a cool rather than icy serving temperature helps reveal its breadth.
Winery Background Henriot's story began with Apolline Henriot in 1808. Its early vineyards included Verzy, Verzenay and Mailly-Champagne, later joined by Chardonnay sites in Avize, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Chouilly following the family's 1880 marriage connection. This cuvée draws on those six grand crus, blending equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. At least ten years of ageing on the lees develops its layered texture, and a dosage of 2.5 grams per litre leaves the structure clearly defined. The long cellar maturation and historic vineyard selection give this Champagne its particular combination of depth and precision.
