Vintage Character
The Louis Brochet 'Cuvée Alain' Premier Cru Extra Brut from the exceptional 2018 vintage represents the pinnacle of craftsmanship in the prestigious Montagne de Reims. The historic 2018 growing season was defined by a warm, sun-drenched summer, which allowed the fruit to achieve optimal phenolic ripeness while retaining a vibrant, structural acidity. Sourced from premier cru vineyards in Écueil, the chalk-dominant soils of this terroir impart a distinctive chalky minerality and powerful depth to the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines.

Tasting Profile & Food Pairing
On the nose, this low-dosage Champagne offers a complex bouquet of golden apple, toasted brioche, and roasted hazelnuts, underpinned by delicate citrus blossom. The palate exhibits a creamy, refined mousse, a rich yet tense texture, and a long, saline finish that beautifully reflects its dry profile. It pairs wonderfully with classic Western dishes like pan-seared scallops in lemon-butter sauce and roasted guinea fowl, as well as Cantonese steamed turbot.

Winery Background
Spearheaded by siblings Hélène and Louis Brochet, this fourth-generation estate is highly regarded for its sustainable viticulture and precision winemaking in Écueil. Named in honor of their father, this prestige vintage cuvée is crafted only in exceptional years from old-vine parcels and aged extensively on its lees to develop profound autolytic complexity. Their minimal-intervention approach makes this bottle a benchmark example of boutique grower Champagne.
