2019 Skyline of Gobi Grand Reserve Marselan Xinjiang is a premium red from Tiansai Vineyards in the Yanqi Basin, one of China’s most distinctive fine-wine zones. The 2019 growing season was notably hot and dry, a pattern that suited thick-skinned Marselan by delivering concentrated fruit, deep color and ripe structure, making it a particularly successful vintage for this style. Set against the arid edge of the Gobi and moderated by broad day-night temperature swings, the Yanqi Basin gives the wine both generosity and freshness, a hallmark of Xinjiang’s best sites.

In the glass, this Marselan shows ripe mulberry, black cherry and blackberry, lifted by violet notes and edged with dark chocolate, cedar and a touch of vanilla from oak élevage. The palate is dry, medium- to full-bodied, with supple but firm tannins, a generous core of dark fruit and a savory, lightly smoky finish that adds polish without losing regional character. It pairs especially well with grilled ribeye, rosemary roast lamb, or Xinjiang-style cumin lamb skewers.
