Vintage Character Tinnyu’s 2024 Cabernet Sauvignon comes from Meili-Shi Village in Shangri-La, Yunnan, at approximately 2,300 metres. The small vineyard lies on sandy-loam soils with gravel beside the Lancang River and is part of Yunnan’s distinctive alpine river-valley wine landscape.
Tasting Profile & Food Pairing The Cabernet Sauvignon was hand-harvested and destemmed over five days before a 14–16 day wild cold fermentation. It received no post-fermentation maceration and naturally completed no malolactic fermentation, then matured for eight months in tank and neutral French 225-litre oak before being bottled unfined and filtered.
Winery Background Tinnyu was founded in 2021 by Leqi Liu and Yuxuan Qiu. Their work in Shangri-La centres on small village parcels, regenerative farming and restrained cellar handling, with the Meili-Shi Cabernet vineyard also documenting a riverside site expected to be affected by future dam construction.
