The 2017 vintage in Bordeaux was shaped by severe spring frosts, yet Pauillac’s gravelly terroirs were largely spared, and a warm, dry summer followed by cooler nights produced wines of balance, freshness, and precision.

In the glass, this cuvée reveals classic Pauillac aromas of cassis, blackberry, violet, and graphite, accented by cedar and spice. The history of Château Grand‑Puy‑Lacoste reaches back to the 16th century, and it has been recognized as a Cinquième Cru Classé since the 1855 classification. Since 1978, the estate has been owned by the Borie family, who have established it as a benchmark for Pauillac lovers seeking authenticity and value. The property encompasses around 90 hectares of vineyards, planted predominantly to Cabernet Sauvignon, with careful vineyard management ensuring low yields and optimal ripeness. In the cellar, vinification is carried out in temperature‑controlled stainless steel vats, followed by élevage in French oak barrels, with approximately 70% new oak used to enhance complexity while preserving fruit purity.
