September Helan Terroir Expression Petit Verdot 2020 comes from the Helan Mountain East Foothills of Ningxia, one of China’s most important fine-wine regions. The 2020 vintage was shaped by dry conditions and episodes of spring frost, which reduced yields and helped produce fruit with notable concentration, making this a small-volume bottling with serious character. This area’s high altitude, abundant sunshine, large day-night temperature swings, and well-drained sandy-gravelly soils are especially well suited to late-ripening varieties such as Petit Verdot, allowing the grape to reach full phenolic maturity while retaining freshness and structure.
Tasting Profile & Food Pairing
In the glass, it shows a deep, насыщенный profile of blackberry, black plum, dark cherry and violet, layered with hints of cocoa, clove, cedar and a touch of graphite. The palate is full-bodied and firmly built, with ripe but assertive tannins, medium-high acidity, and a core of dark fruit wrapped in subtle oak spice, leading to a long, savory finish.
