Domaines Schlumberger Alsace Grand Cru Kessler Pinot Gris 2021 comes from the Alsace Grand Cru Kessler appellation, one of Guebwiller’s most distinctive hillside sites. The 2021 vintage in Alsace was cooler and more challenging than the hottest recent years, which preserved freshness and aromatic definition; in a Grand Cru terroir and careful hands, it offers real finesse and strong value. Kessler’s steep, well-exposed slopes are rooted in sandstone soils, and this combination of gradient, drainage, and sheltered mesoclimate helps Pinot Gris achieve both ripeness and tension.
Tasting Profile & Food Pairing
The wine opens with ripe pear, yellow orchard fruit, quince and white flowers, followed by hints of smoke, spice and wet stone. On the palate it is gently off-dry, medium- to full-bodied, with a supple, textured core balanced by lively acidity, leading to a persistent finish marked by stone fruit, honeyed citrus and a subtle mineral edge. It pairs beautifully with roast pork loin, veal in a cream sauce, or lightly spiced Thai prawn curry.
