The vintage was warm and generous, producing Brunellos with ample fruit and early charm; in the best hands, including Il Marroneto, that richness is balanced by lift and precision. The site’s higher-elevation position near Montalcino, with its well-drained galestro-rich soils and ventilated exposure, helps preserve freshness and aromatic detail in Sangiovese, giving this bottling its distinctive combination of depth and finesse.

On the palate it is full yet finely drawn, with vibrant acidity, polished but persistent tannins, and a long, savory finish that carries notes of dried flowers, licorice and mineral tension. Pair it with bistecca alla Fiorentina, duck breast with cherry reduction, or porcini risotto.
