Vintage Character Domaine Édouard Confuron Nuits-Saint-Georges ‘Aux Allots’ 2022 is a strikingly elegant Pinot Noir from a small 0.38-hectare parcel located at the northern end of Nuits-Saint-Georges, right on the border with Vosne-Romanée and adjacent to the premier cru Aux Chaignots. This privileged location gives the wine a style that leans toward the perfume and finesse of Vosne, while still carrying the structure and depth typical of Nuits. The 2022 vintage in Burgundy was warm and generous, with well-timed rains that preserved freshness. As a result, this wine combines ripe red and black fruit with vibrant acidity and supple tannins. Aromatically, it shows red berries, cherries, and wild strawberries, layered with floral notes, spice, and a subtle forest-floor character.
Tasting Profile & Food Pairing On the palate, it is round and silky, with fine-grained tannins, delicate acidity, and a long, balanced finish that captures both the elegance of its Vosne proximity and the backbone of Nuits-Saint-Georges.
Winery Background Domaine Édouard Confuron is a rising star in the Côte de Nuits, rooted in the long winemaking tradition of the Confuron family.
The domaine farms organically with biodynamic principles, avoiding herbicides and pesticides, and timing vineyard work in harmony with lunar cycles. In the cellar, Édouard Confuron follows a philosophy of minimal intervention: fermentation with native yeasts, partial whole-cluster vinification, élevage in oak barrels with about 25% new wood, and bottling without fining or filtration. Only a minimal amount of sulfur is added at bottling, preserving purity and authenticity. This artisanal approach, combined with the domaine’s focus on old vines and small parcels, has earned it a reputation for producing wines of precision, elegance, and strong terroir identity, with Les Seuvrées offering a particularly expressive and approachable face of Gevrey-Chambertin.
