Brovia Dolcetto d'Alba 'Vignavillej' 2022
Vintage Character
The 2022 Dolcetto d'Alba Vignavillej from Brovia showcases the vibrancy and purity of Dolcetto grown on the hillsides of Castiglione Falletto in Piedmont. Benefiting from a warm growing season with timely rainfall, the 2022 vintage in the region produced wines noted for expressive fruit, lively acidity, and harmonious balance—a year recognized for its excellent value and approachability.
Tasting Profile & Food Pairing
This Dolcetto opens with inviting aromas of violet, red cherry, and a subtle touch of almond. On the palate, it delivers juicy raspberry and red plum flavors, accented by delicate herbal notes and supported by gentle tannins that lead to a pleasantly dry finish. Its supple texture and moderate body make it a versatile partner at the table; classic pairings include tagliatelle al ragù, roasted chicken with Mediterranean herbs, or, for a regional twist, Cantonese roast pork. Aged Asiago or Taleggio cheese also complements the wine’s savory undertones, highlighting its lively fruit and subtle earthiness.
Winery Background
Brovia, established in 1863 in Castiglione Falletto, is a family-run estate with a longstanding reputation for quality and tradition in Piedmont. The winery practices organic farming across its vineyards, focusing on low yields and minimal intervention to allow each site’s unique character to shine through. Brovia’s philosophy centers on producing terroir-driven wines that faithfully reflect the heritage of the region, combining classic winemaking techniques with thoughtful innovation. The Dolcetto d'Alba Vignavillej is crafted from select hillside parcels, exemplifying the estate’s commitment to purity, precision, and the historic role of Dolcetto in local culture.
