Vintage Character 2019 Trediberri Barolo 'Berri' DOCG comes from the Barolo appellation in La Morra, where the estate farms in the Berri hamlet, the western edge of the denomination. The 2019 vintage is widely regarded as a strong year in Barolo, with a long growing season and balanced conditions that helped Nebbiolo retain freshness while achieving excellent phenolic ripeness. Berri’s elevated, breezy position and the lighter, calcareous soils typical of La Morra shape a Barolo of perfume, finesse, and clarity rather than sheer weight.
Tasting Profile & Food Pairing Awarded 93 points by Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, this wine opens with lifted aromas of red cherry, wild strawberry, rose petal, violet, and orange peel, followed by hints of anise, sweet spice, and dried herbs. The palate is precise and energetic, with fine but persistent tannins, bright acidity, and a core of crunchy red fruit that gradually gives way to licorice, tea, and a gently earthy, savory finish. It pairs beautifully with tajarin al ragù, roast duck, or porcini risotto.
Winery Background Trediberri was founded in 2007 by Nicola and Federico Oberto together with Vladimiro Rambaldi, and its name literally means “three from Berri,” a direct nod to both the founders and their home vineyard area. The estate has quickly become one of the most admired modern addresses in Barolo for wines that emphasize transparency, drinkability, and site expression over force or heavy oak. Farming is careful and practical, harvesting is by hand, and the cellar approach favors gentle extraction and aging in large casks so that Nebbiolo’s fragrance, structure, and the personality of Berri remain at the center.
