The 2020 vintage is widely regarded as a strong, balanced year in Barolo: a generally even growing season and a long, steady ripening period helped preserve perfume and freshness while allowing tannins to mature with poise. In La Morra, the area’s Tortonian marl soils are known for producing wines of finesse and aromatic lift, and Capalot’s site translates that character into a Barolo of precision rather than sheer mass.

The bouquet opens with rose petal, violet, red cherry and wild strawberry, then deepens into blood orange, anise, licorice and a subtle earthy minerality.
