Winery Background
Margherita Otto is the deeply personal project of Alan Manley, an American-born winemaker who settled in Barolo and trained with revered traditionalist estates including Bartolo Mascarello and Cavallotto. Founded in Monforte d’Alba, the winery is built on a philosophy of restraint, site transparency, and the classical Langhe practice of blending vineyards for balance and complexity. Fruit is farmed with meticulous attention, harvested by hand, and handled with a low-intervention mindset, while élevage favors traditional methods that preserve Nebbiolo’s aromatic clarity and structural integrity rather than masking it with excess extraction or oak.
