Champagne Delamotte Blanc de Blancs NV
Vintage Character
Delamotte Blanc de Blancs Non-Vintage Champagne is a benchmark expression of Côte des Blancs Chardonnay, crafted exclusively from Grand Cru vineyards in villages such as Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Avize, and Cramant. This non-vintage cuvée is assembled from a blend of base and reserve wines, with the cool, chalk-rich soils of the region imparting a signature mineral backbone and vibrant acidity.
Tasting Profile & Food Pairing
The wine opens with an inviting bouquet of white flowers, citrus peel, and fresh almond, while the palate delivers precise layers of lemon zest, green apple, and a subtle hint of brioche, all carried by a fine, persistent mousse and a long, saline finish. Thanks to meticulous grape selection and extended lees aging, this Champagne achieves both depth and finesse, making it an ideal partner for refined dishes such as oysters on the half shell, crab salad, or a delicate chèvre cheese, where its lively structure enhances the flavors and cuts through richness.
Winery Background
Established in 1760, Champagne Delamotte stands among the oldest houses in the region, celebrated for its dedication to Chardonnay and its elegant, terroir-driven style. As the sister house to the prestigious Salon, Delamotte benefits from access to some of Champagne’s most esteemed Grand Cru vineyards in the Côte des Blancs. The estate emphasizes sustainable viticulture and gentle winemaking, including careful pressing and fermentation in stainless steel to preserve purity, followed by extended aging on the lees to develop texture and complexity. Delamotte’s commitment to patience, precision, and the authentic expression of its exceptional vineyard sources ensures that each bottle reflects the timeless character and heritage of Champagne’s finest terroirs.
