Racines Grand Reserve Blanc de Blancs NV
Vintage Character
Racines Grand Reserve Blanc de Blancs NV is a sophisticated sparkling wine produced solely from Chardonnay grapes, sourced from select vineyards along California’s Central Coast. The non-vintage approach allows Racines to blend multiple years for consistency and depth, drawing on reserve wines to enhance complexity.
Tasting Profile & Food Pairing
California’s cool coastal climate and chalk-influenced soils contribute to the wine’s vibrant freshness and mineral backbone. Delicate aromas of green apple, Meyer lemon, and white flowers mingle with subtle notes of toasted brioche and oyster shell, while the palate reveals lively acidity, a fine and persistent mousse, and layered flavors of citrus zest, pear, and a hint of hazelnut. This Blanc de Blancs is versatile at the table, pairing beautifully with classic Western dishes such as fresh oysters, crab cakes, or a goat cheese tart, and also complements delicate Cantonese steamed fish for an elegant fusion experience.
Winery Background
Racines is a collaborative venture uniting the expertise of renowned winemakers from Champagne and California, notably the teams behind Tyler Winery and Domaine de Montille. Their philosophy blends Old World precision with New World terroir, emphasizing meticulous vineyard selection and minimal intervention in the cellar to showcase purity and site expression. Committed to sustainable farming and gentle winemaking practices, Racines strives to capture the essence of California’s coastal Chardonnay in every bottle. The winery stands out for its seamless integration of French sparkling wine tradition and Californian innovation, producing wines of remarkable clarity, texture, and balance.
