Vintage Character Cristia Collection Côtes du Rhône Blanc 2021 is a Cristia Collection Côtes du Rhône Blanc. Frost, occasional hail and abundant rain made the Rhône's 2021 season unusually demanding. Ripening came late, yet careful picking yielded sound grapes with good natural acidity. Southern white wines were praised for freshness rather than heat-driven breadth, with vivid aromas and a lighter alcohol frame. In Cristia Collection's Côtes du Rhône Blanc, the season suggests lifted floral fruit with enough tension for the table. It is a cooler, more variable vintage.
Tasting Profile & Food Pairing White blossom, apricot, pear and citrus greet the nose, with a touch of waxy texture that suits the Viognier-led blend. The dry palate is medium bodied, rounded by fruit yet checked by acidity and a faint bitter-mineral finish. Roast chicken with herbs, grilled prawns and vegetable couscous complement its aromatic range. The floral and orchard-fruit character makes it particularly useful with aromatic dishes that are not sweet. A few minutes in the glass can bring out more texture and let the fruit sit comfortably beside its fresh, lightly bitter finish. Serve cool, not ice cold.
Winery Background Cristia Collection is the Grangeon family's range of selected Rhône appellations beyond its estate-grown wines. This white is a four-grape Côtes du Rhône blend of Viognier, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne and Clairette. It is separate from the estate's Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc, which has a different blend and origin. The family began with Etienne Grangeon's small Grenache holding in the 1950s, then expanded under Alain, Baptiste and Dominique. The Collection applies that experience to a broader sourcing map while keeping each appellation and cuvée distinct.
