The 2022 growing season brought a warm, dry pattern tempered by these cooling marine conditions, yielding a vintage with generous fruit yet enough tension to keep the wine balanced. Drawn from sites around Sebastopol and the broader Russian River Valley, this origin is defined by Goldridge-derived sandy loam soils and a long, even ripening window that suits Pinot Noir especially well.

Tasting Profile & Food Pairing
On the nose, this wine shows red cherry, wild raspberry and pomegranate, with rose petal, violet and subtle spice. The palate is medium-bodied and finely textured, layering bright red fruit with hints of tea leaf, forest floor and gentle vanilla from French oak, while lively acidity carries the flavors through a poised, silky finish. Founded in 2001 by Ken and Akiko Freeman, Freeman Vineyard & Winery has built a strong reputation for elegant Pinot Noir and Chardonnay shaped more by finesse than sheer weight. Akiko Freeman, one of the few Japanese-born winemakers in California, is especially admired for a precise, site-sensitive style that favors purity and transparency.
