I Vitari Valtellina Superiore Grumello "Vigna I Vitari" DOCG 2021 comes from one of the classic crus of Valtellina, where Nebbiolo—locally called Chiavennasca—ripens on steep, south-facing mountain terraces above the Adda valley. The 2021 vintage is widely regarded as strong in northern Italy, with a balanced growing season that preserved freshness while allowing full phenolic maturity, giving the wine both precision and depth. Grumello is prized for its alpine light, marked day–night shifts, and sandy, stony soils on ancient terraced slopes, all of which help shape a more lifted, mineral expression of Nebbiolo than its Piedmont counterparts.
