Pol Roger Brut Réserve NV
Vintage Character
From the historic chalk hills of Champagne, the non-vintage Pol Roger Brut Reserve represents the pinnacle of house blending artistry. Since this is a non-vintage Champagne, the master blender utilizes reserve wines from various years to counteract annual weather fluctuations, ensuring a consistently high-quality, complex profile year after year. Sourced from approximately thirty different crus across the Montagne de Reims and Côte des Blancs, the grapes benefit from the region's classic, nutrient-rich chalk soils that impart a signature mineral tension.
Tasting Profile & Food Pairing
Consistently earning 92 points from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, this legendary cuvée opens with inviting aromas of green apple, fresh pear, warm brioche, and white flowers. On the palate, it exhibits a beautiful balance of ripe stone fruit, vibrant acidity, and a creamy, persistent mousse, leading to a crisp, long-lasting finish accented by subtle honeyed notes. This versatile sparkling wine pairs beautifully with pan-seared sea scallops, roast chicken, or traditional Cantonese dim sum.
Winery Background
Established in 1849, Champagne Pol Roger remains one of the few prestigious houses still family-owned and independent, celebrated historically as the favorite Champagne of Sir Winston Churchill. The house meticulously hand-harvests all grapes and employs sustainable vineyard management. Their traditional winemaking includes cold-settling of the juice, cool fermentation in stainless steel, and extensive aging in deep, cold chalk cellars 33 meters below Épernay, giving this benchmark Champagne its signature fine bubbles and unmatched elegance.
