Vintage Character Domaine de la Folie Rully 'Clos la Folie' Monopole 2024 is a Village wine from the Rully appellation. Persistent rain and episodes of frost, hail and disease pressure complicated the 2024 growing season across Bourgogne. A drier August then improved ripening conditions, although yields were reduced in many places. The season puts careful selection and freshness ahead of easy abundance. For Chardonnay, the important question is how ripe orchard fruit and texture sit alongside acidity; its particular site and classification set the expectation for depth without removing the need for freshness.
Tasting Profile & Food Pairing Pear and white peach give this Chardonnay a rounded first impression; lemon and quiet flowers keep it precise. On the palate it is dry and medium-full in body, with medium-high acidity running through the Chardonnay fruit and mineral notes adding a rounder middle. Try it with grilled sea bass, roast chicken and creamy mushroom pasta; the medium-high acidity cuts through richness while the medium-full body holds up to the sauces. Serve at 8–10°C so the lemon and pear stay in focus.
Winery Background Domaine de la Folie is a family property in the northern Côte Chalonnaise. Clémence and Baptiste Dubrulle have managed its enclosed vineyards since 2010. Parcel selection keeps each of the estate's Rully and Bourgogne wines distinct. Parcel-by-parcel work keeps those sites recognisable rather than imposing one style. Farming and picking matter when a difficult season challenges ripeness. The vineyard designation names the exact source of the fruit.
