Domaine Jean-Marc Millot Grands-Échezeaux Grand Cru 2019 comes from one of Burgundy’s most revered Grand Cru sites in Flagey-Échezeaux, a narrow band of vineyard between Clos de Vougeot and Échezeaux planted to Pinot Noir. The 2019 vintage is widely regarded as excellent in the Côte de Nuits: a warm, dry growing season produced small berries and concentrated fruit, while preserving enough freshness to keep the wine poised rather than heavy. Grands-Échezeaux is prized for its combination of clay-limestone soils and a sheltered mid-slope position, a terroir that often gives more breadth and authority than many Chambolle sites while retaining Burgundian lift and perfume.
