Montetino Trebbiano d'Abruzzo 'Le Foci' 2024
Vintage Character
From the coastal hills of the Trebbiano d'Abruzzo DOC, the 2024 Montetino 'Le Foci' showcases a stellar vintage marked by a warm summer, where cooling Adriatic sea breezes preserved crucial acidity to balance the concentrated fruit. The estate's vineyards thrive on clay-limestone soils, situated between the dramatic Apennine peaks and the nearby coast, creating a unique microclimate that infuses the indigenous Trebbiano grapes with a signature maritime freshness and distinct mineral tension.
Tasting Profile & Food Pairing
This crisp white wine displays a pale straw hue, opening with expressive aromas of white peach, green apple, and white blossoms, layered with subtle mineral undertones. On the palate, it delivers a vibrant, light-to-medium-bodied texture with racy acidity, culminating in a clean, salty-savory finish that invites another sip. It pairs wonderfully with classic Mediterranean dishes such as linguine alle vongole, grilled sea bass with lemon and herbs, or delicate steamed shrimp dumplings.
Winery Background
Montetino is an artisanal producer dedicated to crafting honest, terroir-driven wines that honor Abruzzo’s rich viticultural heritage. Embracing sustainable farming and low-intervention winemaking, the estate emphasizes hand-harvesting and temperature-controlled stainless steel fermentation to safeguard the natural purity and varietal character of the fruit. This meticulous, small-scale approach renders 'Le Foci' a highly authentic, benchmark expression of modern Abruzzo white winemaking.
