Vintage Character From the versatile Coteaux Bourguignons appellation, the 2022 Domaine Édouard Confuron Coteaux Bourguignons is a vibrant expression of traditional Burgundian grapes. The 2022 vintage in Burgundy is highly regarded for its warm, sunny summer which allowed the grapes to achieve optimal phenolic ripeness while retaining excellent freshness. Sourced from select parcel holdings on classic clay-limestone soils, this terroir lends a distinct mineral tension that beautifully balances the blend's lush fruit character.
Tasting Profile & Food Pairing This red blend showcases a brilliant ruby color, opening with an expressive bouquet of crunchy red cherry, wild raspberry, and violet, beautifully layered with subtle white pepper and earth from whole-cluster fermentation. The palate is light-to-medium-bodied, featuring vibrant acidity, silky-smooth tannins, and a remarkably clean, juicy finish. Serve this refreshing wine slightly chilled alongside pan-seared duck breast, a classic French charcuterie board, or grilled pork chops.
Winery Background Based in prestigious Vosne Romanée, Domaine Édouard Confuron was founded in 2021 by Édouard, the talented son of François Confuron. Managing a micro-estate of just under two and a half hectares, Édouard represents Burgundy's brilliant new generation of low-intervention vintners. He champions organic farming, partial whole-cluster fermentation, and aging in neutral vessels to limit extraction, creating highly sought-after wines that capture pure fruit energy and authentic regional character.
