Vintage Character Cristia Collection Côtes du Rhône (Kosher) 2024 is a Cristia Collection Côtes du Rhône Grenache-based red. Heavy spring rain and some hail made 2024 a demanding year across the Rhône, with mildew pressure and a smaller crop. Later moderate summer warmth, Mistral wind and cool nights supported a longer ripening period, preserving fruit and acidity. Southern Grenache and Syrah reds were described as fine, fresh and controlled in alcohol rather than simply dense. That suits the Collection's accessible red, where ripeness and drinkability coexist.
Tasting Profile & Food Pairing Red cherry, plum, garrigue and a light pepper note give the nose a distinctly southern register. The dry palate is medium-full, its ripe Grenache-led fruit held by fresh acidity and supple tannin, with a clean, herbal close. Roast chicken, grilled lamb and tomato-braised vegetables work better than very sweet sauces. Serve a little below a warm room temperature to keep the berry detail lively. This is a kosher-certified bottling.
Winery Background Cristia Collection is the Grangeon family's selection of Rhône appellations beyond its own estate vineyards. The family's base is Courthézon, east of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, where Etienne Grangeon began the property in the 1950s; Alain expanded plantings and Baptiste and Dominique later strengthened parcel selection. The Collection lets the team work in a wider range of districts under the Cristia name. It is a regional appellation wine.
