Evolution Grenache Oregon 2020
Vintage Character
Evolution Grenache 2020 is an Oregon red wine that spotlights Grenache in a state better known for Pinot Noir, giving it immediate appeal for drinkers seeking a fresher, cooler-climate expression of the variety. The 2020 vintage in Oregon was shaped by a warm growing season and challenging late-season conditions, yielding a wine with ripe fruit concentration and a style that rewards a little air in the glass. Sourced from Oregon vineyards influenced by the state’s long daylight hours, cool nights, and well-drained soils, it shows the lively acidity and aromatic lift that make Oregon reds so distinctive.
Tasting Profile & Food Pairing
On the nose, this wine offers bright strawberry, red raspberry, and cherry layered with rose petal, white pepper, and a touch of dried herbs. The palate is medium-bodied and supple, with juicy red fruit, fine tannins, and a gentle thread of spice that carries through a fresh, poised finish. Its balance of ripeness and lift makes it especially versatile at the table: try it with herb-roasted pork tenderloin, grilled lamb skewers, or mushroom risotto.
Winery Background
Evolution is a label created by the pioneering Sokol Blosser family, one of the early standard-bearers of modern Oregon winegrowing, with roots in the Willamette Valley dating to 1971. The brand was developed to offer expressive, approachable wines while maintaining a serious commitment to quality and environmental stewardship, and the wider winery is recognized for its B Corp certification and organic farming leadership. Guided by a philosophy of balance and drinkability, the winemaking here favors purity of fruit, thoughtful handling, and restrained oak influence, resulting in wines that are characterful, polished, and reliably appealing.
