Limited Addition Limited Blaufränkisch 2022
Vintage Character
Limited Addition Limited Blaufränkisch 2022 comes from the broad Willamette Valley AVA in Oregon, a region better known for Pinot Noir but increasingly compelling for climate-adapted varieties. The 2022 growing season in the valley delivered ripe fruit while retaining freshness, giving this vintage a particularly attractive balance of energy and flavor concentration. Sourced from Willamette Valley sites shaped by the region’s cool climate and long daylight hours, this bottling shows how Blaufränkisch can translate the area’s lifted acidity, moderate alcohol, and savory detail into a distinctly Oregon expression.
Tasting Profile & Food Pairing
On the nose, it offers black cherry, wild bramble, crushed violet, and cracked black pepper, with brighter notes of pomegranate and a subtle clove-like spice. The palate is medium-bodied and dry, with supple tannins, lively acidity, and a juicy yet finely drawn texture that carries dark red fruit, graphite, and gentle earthy savor through a fresh, peppery finish. Its combination of brightness and spice makes it especially versatile at the table: try it with duck breast with cherry glaze, grilled lamb sausages, or mushroom bibimbap.
Winery Background
Limited Addition is the collaborative project of Bree Stock MW and Chad Stock, two influential voices in contemporary Oregon wine with a shared interest in expanding the state’s vinous vocabulary beyond its established classics. Working with independent growers, they champion sustainable farming, polyculture, and varieties that suit evolving conditions, then guide the wines with a restrained, minimal-intervention approach intended to preserve vineyard character. This small-lot Blaufränkisch captures that philosophy clearly: experimental in grape choice, precise in execution, and expressive of a newer, more adventurous side of the Willamette Valley.
