The 2019 growing season is widely regarded as a strong vintage in Shangri-La, with mountain freshness and ample sunshine helping grapes reach full ripeness while retaining lift and definition. Sourced from the village of Rinitong, this wine reflects the area’s dramatic Himalayan setting, where steep slopes, intense sunlight, cool nights and complex mountain soils combine to give depth, aromatic precision and a notable mineral edge.

On the nose, it opens with blackberry, blackcurrant and dark plum, layered with violet, wild herbs, cedar and a touch of spice. The palate is medium- to full-bodied, combining ripe black fruit with firm but polished tannins, lively acidity and a savoury, stony undertone that carries through the finish. French oak adds notes of clove, cocoa and subtle vanilla without overwhelming the fruit. It pairs especially well with roast lamb, grilled ribeye, or Yunnan-style mushroom hot pot.
