Vintage Character Arillo in Terrabianca 'Bevobianco' Maremma Toscana DOC 2024 reflects a season in which early water reserves became especially valuable. Rainfall was abundant at the start of the growing cycle, with normal temperatures and useful day-to-night variation until mid-July. Strong heat then arrived both by day and at night, but the vines responded well thanks to the moisture stored in the soil. Further rain in September and October extended ripening and harvest. The producer describes generous yields and balanced maturity, a fitting background for this Chardonnay and Viognier blend from Il Tesoro in Alta Maremma.
Tasting Profile & Food Pairing White flowers lead into banana and white peach, with a fine oak accent adding a little depth. The palate opens freshly, broadens through the middle and then returns to a persistent savoury finish. The fruit is generous without losing its outline, and the final impression is one of harmony rather than heaviness. Try it with grilled sea bream, a light chicken pasta, or a young sheep's cheese. These combinations support the wine's texture while leaving the floral and white-fruit aromas in focus; its fresh edge also makes it comfortable beside a gently creamy sauce.
Winery Background Each variety is softly pressed and fermented separately in stainless steel at controlled temperature. The wines then spend six months on fine lees: Viognier remains in steel, while Chardonnay matures in used barriques. This division preserves fragrance while building the broader texture of the blend. Arillo in Terrabianca links the Maremma estate of Il Tesoro with the family's Chianti holdings, under the project begun by Adriana and Urs Burkard in 2019. 'Bevobianco' offers a welcoming expression of that range, defined by ripe white fruit, savoury persistence and a restrained contribution from oak.
